NStep

Our NStep Rehabilitation Facility is up and running ready to accept more residents.  The Grand Opening for the unit is January 19, 2012 from 4:00 to 6:00pm, We look forward to seeing all who are able to come.

New Year at Christian Care Center

With the beginning of the new year a lot of new things are taking place in the facility.  Our NStep unit is at completion and ready to accept residents.  We have a New Facility Administrator, Mr Mark Sanchez, who began with the facility the first week of December.  We also have a New NStep director, Mrs Kim Kieth, who began the last week of December.  Progress in the facility is very exciting and looking forward to the next year.

Family Thanksgiving

Excitement builds in the Christian Care Center community as we begin to prepare for the annual Family Thanksgiving Dinner.  Every year the week prior to Thanksgiving we celebrate with our residents families with a formal dining experience with entertainment and great food.  This years menu much like other years is turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes, green bean casarole served with a dinner roll and cranberry sauce.  For desert there will be a list of pies from peacon to pumpkin to sweet potato pies.  The entertainment scheduled will be some of our current staff CMA Barton on the Piano and LVN Pam with the vocals.  Our Maintenance Suppervisor will also be singing and playing the guitar.  We look forward to a large turnout and a good time to be had by all. The event will be Thursday, November 17th.

Fall Festival

10-28-11

Today is the big day for fun and games.  Many residents are dressed in their Halloween costumes and ready for the festival.  We have everyone from a couple convicts to dracula to several witches to catwoman to a couple sheriffs to a pimp and a gangster.  Looks like loads of fun.

Catered Cuisines for Renaissance Plaza

Tomorrow we will be serving the community of Renaissance Plaza with a hot meal.  We will start meal delivery around 11:30am with intent to have everyone a meal before 12:30pm.  The meals in the past have been very successful and we have a lot of participation in this community.  This will be the first of the home deliveries.

Catered Cuisines

Our monthly delivered meal to the residents of Winfield Estates community went over real well.  Since this was the first of our home delivered program there were a few hiccups, but all-in-all it went very well.  Everyone that placed an order for a meal received one before 12:30p, midway of the lunch hour.  We look forward to becoming more proficient and hopefully being able to provide more benefits to this and other communities.

October Events

Fall Festival.  We are looking forward to a full list of fun activities this month culminating with the end of the month "Fall Festival".  Our annual fall festival is an exciting time for the residents and the community we generally have a costume party atmosphere with a majority of the residents participating.  We have several of the local day care centers come through and trick-or-treat from our residents and our residents hand out candy to the young people.  At the festival there are usually games like 'bobbing for apples' and ring toss.  We often have face painting and other crafts.  A good time is gaurenteed to all that attend.  This years event will be October 28, starting around 10:00am until 1:00pm look forward to seeing friends and family for this event.

National Night Out

We had a great last evening at Renaissance Plaza with all the members of the community that turned out to the event.  There was plenty of food, music and games for those that attended.  This was the first of these events that I have attended and I would have to say that it was definitly a success.  Our facility provided a chicken speghetti dinner for the senior citizens that turned out, I believe that our meal was the star of the show we feed over 70 people.  A great time was had by all!

"Lunch For the Seniors"

Our monthly meal at Renaissance Plaza went over real well.  We served chicken spaghetti, salad, garlic toast and watermelon for desert.  We served around twenty residents of that community the meal was well recieved and they ALL were already anticipating next months meal.

Upcoming Community Events

Christian Care Center will be sponsoring a luncheon at Renaissance Plaza on August 16, 2011.  The goal of this luncheon is first and foremost to provide a meal for some of the senior citizens in our local area.  Another objective will be to speak about the new program similar to but unrelated to "Meals on Wheels".  We plan on eventually providing a weekly meals to those that would like to participate and for those that aren't able to prepare a meal for themselves.  I know that this is only a drop in the bucket to the full need in the community, but in a drought every drop counts.
